Continue ReadingBrewster Peacock entered his senior season with no scholarship offers on the table, but his recruitment has heated up over the past couple of months. NOC-Enid, Central Oklahoma, Northeastern State and Rogers State have each extended scholarship offers to Peacock.
“I have four offers on the table right now,” said Peacock. “I’m looking for a coach that fits me.”
Peacock is a 6’4 Shooting Guard with a deadly jumper. He can score in all three phases of the game, but excels from three-point and mid-range. The length of Peacock allows him to elevate over defenders with ease to get his jump shot off.
With scholarship offers on the table Peacock will have a chance to sign early if he so wishes. At this time Peacock thinks he will wait until the spring signing period before he signs his letter of intent. One of the big things Peacock is looking for is playing time as a true freshmen.
“I want to be able to go in and contribute right away,” said Peacock.
Verdigris is coming off a state championship season a year ago, which Peacock played a vital role in. Peacock will be the leader for Verdigris on and off the court this season. He has a chance to have a historic season in Class 3A. The road to the title for Verdigris will not include Heritage Hall because the Chargers moved up to Class 4A, but will have Douglass who was moved down to 3A.
Peacock will be one of the best Division II guards out of Oklahoma in the 2017 Class. The four schools that are currently pursing him will be tough to beat, but a new school could enter the picture if he waits to sign until the spring.
