Shortly after he committed to the NAIA program, and he’s eager to get started as a Cougars guard next season.
“They were my first offer and I talked about it with my parents and prayed about it because I’m a big Christian and it’s a big Christian school. I just felt like it was perfect choice for me,” aid Geschke. “I visited a couple times and each was fantastic experience, it was very easy to commit.”
One of his priorities was being able to play with the team right away.
“That was one of my main questions going into the recruiting process, and the coach said I could have a big impact as a freshman coming in,” said Geschke. “And that’s what I wanted, I wanted to play right away, and that was a huge deciding factor also.”
A pass-first guard who prides himself on being a true point guard, Geschke says his passing skills have been a main focus of his since he first started playing basketball.
“Im my opinion I think the biggest impact I make is with my vision,” said Geschke. “My passing skills have increased so much, and I keep getting better and better at that.”
With the hoops season just weeks away, Geschke broke down to PHOH what his role will be thi season, and how it will be different than last winter.
“Last year we had a 7-foot center who’s at Michigan now, so without him I’ll have to increase my scoring and find different guys to knock-down some shots,” said Geschke.
“My dad and I worked out a couple goals after the season last year. And my biggest goal, obviously, is to make it as far as we can in the tournament, and contribute in any way I can. And personally I’d like to be the Gazette Player of the Year (which is our newspaper here in Medina). And then just help the team as much as I can; scoring, assists, just everything.”
