The most talented player throughout the entire camp was not up for debate after the competition ended. Booker T. Washington 2018 Forward Jaycson Bereal was a man amongst boys. Bereal is the Prep Hoops Top 250 EXPO Oklahoma 2017-2018 Camp MVP.
He brought his A game to Oklahoma City putting on an absolute show in all facets of the game. The biggest question with Bereal is will he develop into a Wing? If Sunday was any indication, Bereal is well on his way to becoming a force on the Wing.
Bereal holds offers from ORU, Tulsa, Arkansas Little-Rock and Denver. This summer Bereal broke out on the national scene with Oklahoma Run PWP on the Under Armour Circuit. He has a chance to be a really special prospect with his size at 6’7 and freak athleticism.
The biggest thing Bereal must improve is his ball handling skills and jump shot. Sunday Bereal certainly displayed improvement in both of those areas. Many around the state have not seen Bereal in action yet because he had to sit out last season due to OSSAA transfer rules. By this time next year everyone in Oklahoma will be well aware of Bereal’s talents.
Schools that are showing interest in Bereal include Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Creighton, New Mexico State, Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Memphis, Louisiana Tech, Utah and Rice. The recruiting process is just beginning for Bereal.
For the avid basketball fan in Oklahoma, Bereal and Booker T. Washington will be one to mark your calendars for this year.
