The number 2 prospect in the Oklahoma 2018 Class Trey Hopkins recently visited one of the three schools that has extended an offer to him. This past weekend Hopkins visited Nebraska unofficially for the second time. But this time around it was during school with a huge game taking place as the Huskers battled Oregon on the gridiron.
Last time Hopkins visited the Huskers campus was during the summer with no students on campus. Nebraska was full of students this time around with one of the biggest home game in quite some time taking place with Oregon in town. Hopkins was in awe of the atmosphere at Nebraska.
“The campus on game day is just unexplainable,” said Hopkins. “It is one of those things you have to experience yourself.”
Several things stood out for Hopkins on his second visit.
“Their staff and the culture they have stand out,” said Hopkins. “Also there facilities are great.”
Nebraska offered Hopkins following a huge performance for him against Atlanta Xpress at the Under Armour session in Indiana.
As you can see Hopkins put on quite the show with 28 points on over 60% shooting from the floor. Not to mention several highlights jams. Hopkins athleticism is a big reason Nebraska is drawn to him in the 2018 Class. Over the next year Hopkins has a chance to really burst onto the national scene. One of the biggest things Nebraska has working in their favor with Hopkins is the relationship they have built with him.
“My relationship with Nebraska is great,” said Hopkins. “It keeps getting better.”
Hopkins is just beginning the recruiting process with four offers currently from Nebraska, Tulsa, DePaul and Boise State. This Saturday Boise State is scheduled to visit Hopkins. The recruitment of Hopkins will be very interesting to watch over the next calendar year.
