When fed the ball in the post Jenkins has the skills around the rim to be a strong finisher that can do damage. Jenkins really turned his game to another level in July. The most notable performance of July was in the Prep Hoop Finale towards the end of July. Jenkins impressed several coaches at the tournament.
This past week Jenkins picked up his first Division II offer from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. The offer meant a lot to Jenkins.
“It felt great to pick up my first Division II offer,” said Jenkins. “It shows me that all of my hard work had paid off.”
Jenkins is looking to add a couple of things to his game in preparation for his senior season at Putnam City.
“I have been working on my jump shot from about 15 feet out from the basket,” said Jenkins. “I have also been working on my on-ball defense.”
Jenkins recruitment is likely just beginning with his size and frame. Not many players are featured in Oklahoma with the size and skills that Jenkins has at 6’6. Several other Division II programs have reached out and showed interest in Jenkins.
Jenkins has big goals for himself this season at Putnam City. He is hoping to lead his squad to the Class 6A State Tournament. Jenkins will be a key part in the leadership and scoring load for Putnam City. Keep an eye on the development of Jenkins over his senior season. Putnam City is a new and improved team heading into the 2016-2017 season.
Prep Hoops will continue to update the recruitment of Jenkins as the year continues.
