The 2018 prospect and rising junior at Pikeville, added 35 and 27 points on the first two days of the Super Showcase in Orlando just a week and a half ago.
The 6’4″, 180-pound guard ranks No. 20 overall in the Prep Hoops Kentucky 2018 rankings.
He says this summer has been great playing on the AAU circuit for head coach Kelsey Combs and the Louisville Lightning 16U. Battaille averaged 24 points and eight rebounds in six games in Orlando.
“I think I’ve improved on all aspects of my game. I’ve been trying to work on getting to the rim, shooting and everything.”
Battaille doubles as a quarterback at Pikeville. He says it’s tough to juggle both sports year round, but admits that AAU ball really helps him get in the groove of basketball.
“It’s pretty hard because I don’t usually pick up a basketball until December because last year we won states so we didn’t come back into the gym until December 3rd.”
With training and hard work, Battaille has added 15 lbs. of muscle this off-season as he prepares for his junior season on the football field and basketball court.
He currently holds an offer for basketball from the University of Pikeville. He’s also drawn interest from Kent State, Ball State and Miami (Ohio).
Bataille is a hard worker who attacked often throughout this tournament. He has impressive range. His basketball IQ is something that is evident. Heading into his junior season, he’s only going to improve which will draw more looks and more attention to his basketball game. Division-I programs are going to know who he is by the end of this season I can promise you that.
