Since then he’s had a very productive spring and summer, and he still has a senior season to look forward to. A senior season chock-full of expectations.
The Cleveland native — who had no other offers when he committed — says there were three main reasons he decided to pledge early to the Vikings.
“There’s three main reason why I liked Cleveland State,” said Christian. “The first one was that the coaches are really good people — and you really get the sense when you’re dealing with real good coaches and real good men that you could learn from.”
“The second reason was I have a new nephew that was just born, and I just feel like I’m obligated to stay home and watch him grow up and help raise him, things like that.”
“The third reason: I’m from Cleveland, I’m big on loyalty, and there’s no other place I’d rather play.”
An elite shooter with playmaking ability at the one and two spots, Christian spent his 17U campaign playing with All-Ohio and Ohio Basketball Club.
“This was my best season of AAU, maybe because I knew it was my last year,” said Christian. “And it was good, I think I got better this year more than any other year.”
Now he sets his sights on one last season with the Bulldogs, before he dons the Viking green and white.
“The goal is to get down to state and win it,” said Christian. “Not to just to get there, but to win it.”
