The 6-foot-3 combo guard adds that interest to his on existing D1 offer from Loyola Maryland.
Johnson’s interest is from High Point, Stetson, and Wright State — those programs will be monitoring Johnson throughout his senior season.
“My recruitment is for sure a priority,” said Johnson. “I’d love to make my decision before the season so I can have that done with and have my only focus be on my high school season.”
Currently Kentucky’s 17th-ranked 2017, Johnson mentioned to PHK what it is he’s been working on to improve most.
“I’ve really worked on my shot. I feel like I’ve improved it tremendously, and it’s now a strength in my game,” said Johnson, who spent his spring and summer with Kentucky Grind.
“I though I got others involved well, and made everyone better each game.”
Last season as a junior with the Knights, Johnson averaged 23.2 points per game. This season he’s looking to refine his leadership skills.
“This year I’m going to have to step-up and really be a leader,” said Johnson. “I’m going to have a lot of guys who really look up to me so I need to be the best I can be to make them the best they can be.”
