Arkansas Monticello, East Central and Cameron have all pulled the trigger offering Hines. Over the summer Hines ran the show for the OKC Wizards. Hines is a floor general that does multiple things well at the Point. With several Division II offers on the table Hines will have a tough choice this fall.
“I may sign early if I get 100% comfortable with were I want to go,” Hines said.
Hines has a good idea of what he is looking for in a school. He is looking forward to visiting the schools this fall.
“I’m just looking for a place where I feel really comfortable and is a nice fit for me,” Hines said. “Somewhere that isn’t just loaded with guards and coaches that I feel really comfortable with and will have a good relationship with.”
At the Point Hines provides toughness, scoring, vision and dimes to his teammates. This year at Fort Cobb the goals are what they have always been win the State Tournament. The last two years Fort Cobb has completed their goal becoming champions in Class B in the 2014-2015 season and Class A in 2015-2016.
“First of all to win another State Championship,” Hines said. “Then to win all of our tournaments we are in. Including the TOC where I know we are the underdogs, but we are confident enough that we can win the whole thing.”
The TOC will match Fort Cobb against some of the higher class teams in the state. Don’t be surprised if Fort Cobb in Class A knocks off a couple of teams in Class 6A and 5A this season.
Hines is set for a huge senior season at Fort Cobb. It will be interesting to watch the three Division II schools recruitment of Hines and to see if any other schools pull the trigger.
