Now Red Oak will turn to Nix to be their leader for the next two years. Nix is no stranger to leading on the court with his ability to lit defenses up with his lethal jump shot. Nix has high goals for next year.
“My goals for next year are to get another State Championship back to Red Oak,” Nix said. “Brad Davis was a great scorer and leader and I’m ready to take that leadership role and lead my teammates to another one.”
This summer Nix has been working hard on his game playing with the Oklahoma Impact. The biggest thing Nix is working to improve is becoming a two way player.
“I have been working to improve on the defensive side of my game,” Nix said.
Another area Nix is working on is crashing the boards. Nix measures at 6’3 on the Wing making him one of the taller players at Red Oak. At the next level Nix will have the perfect size to play on the Wing, but at Red Oak he is called upon to rebound very heavily.
The best attribute Nix brings to the floor is his ability to score the basketball inside and out. When asked if he could add one thing to his game, Nix responded with “A Mid-range pull up.”
Nix does not hold an offer yet. However, several Division II programs in the region have reached out to him after his big summer. Nix is a small town Oklahoma kid to keep an eye on. He could be one of the better Oklahoma Division II prospects by the time he graduates in 2018.
