Cameron Martin Back at Yukon
Cameron Martin has moved every year of his high school career this time he moves back to Yukon after a one year hiatus. Martin makes Yukon an instant contender to make the Class 6A State Tournament.
Mooreland, Sumo headed to Norman
Bryce Moorland is moving to Norman following winning a ring with the Carl Albert Titans in his sophomore year. He will have company as David Sumo is moving to play for the Tigers as well. Mooreland and Sumo give the Tigers instant fire power in the backcourt. It is rumored the Tigers could have two more possible transfers of players that could contribute off the bench. Expect Norman to be better under first year Head Coach Rodney Dindy.
Johnson and Coppage Team Up at Edmond North
One of the states most talented players, Marvin Johnson and an under the radar player at the Point, Carlos Coppage both have moved to Edmond North. Both players left Ardmore to become Huskies. Coppage will give the Huskies a Point Guard that can distribute the ball to playmakers. Johnson is a very talented 6’5 Wing that will plug in with Edmond North and immediately launch the Huskies into the top 3 in Class 6A.
Price is a Patriot
George Price moved over to Putnam City West in the spring following a big year at Harding Prep. Putnam City West already has a loaded squad, Price will make them even better. Price is one of the most under the radar players, but will have his chance to shine in Class 6A under the bright lights. Putnam City West is the favorite in Class 6A to enter the season.
Atkinson Switches to PCO
Owen Atkinson moved from Bishop McGuinness to Putnam City over the summer. He is hoping to have the chance to play more out on the wing. Often times Atkinson flies under the radar, but he has great upside at 6’6. Don’t be surprised if PCO makes some noise this year in Class 6A.
PC North Lands Two Huge Move-Ins
Mark it down Putnam City North will be one of the best teams in Class 6A next year. Last year the Panthers made the state tournament under the leadership of Micah Speight. This year it will be on the shoulders of junior Adokiye Iyaye. Iyaye comes to Putnam City North from Piedmont with 6’7 Forward Blake Owens coming as well. Iyaye is ranked as the #3 prospect in the Oklahoma 2018 Class. Owens is a player that has raised his stock tremendously over the summer.
Over the next week with schools starting up more moves are bound to happen. Transfers have become a huge part of the high school basketball scene in Oklahoma. The moves above could have a large impact on which team is hoisting the Gold Ball at the end of the year.
