Iyaye had one of the best July’s of any 2018 Oklahoma prospects. The phone call Iyaye received on Wednesday was a special moment for him.
“It felt great knowing that all that hard work you put in at the gym is finally paying off,” Iyaye said. “Coaches are noticing my hard work.”
One thing that should also be pointed out is the great student Iyaye is in the classroom. Iyaye knows more than the average recruit about Binghamton University.
“I knew it was in New York and they are a great school academically,” Iyaye said.
Iyaye is a 6’2 tough, clutch and sneaky athletic two guard. Each game Iyaye makes defense a priority. Being able to guard 1-3 sets him apart from many other combo guards. He scores the basketball well driving to the basket using his strength to finish shots in traffic. In the month of July Iyaye displayed his clutch shooting talents from behind the arc.
Iyaye is excited for the upcoming season at Putnam City North. He still is working very hard to improve his overall game every day.
“As the high school season approaches I want to work on my ball handling skills and passing,” Iyaye said. “Since I play the combo guard spot I have to be able to switch between the 1 and the 2 equally.”
Expect Iyaye to receive more attention from Division I schools as his junior years gets underway. He has a chance to be a special prospect when he graduates in two years.
