Taylor is a forward all day. At 6-foot-5 Taylor will be active in the Peay frontcourt for years to come. He joins Pedro Bradshaw (Belmont) and Peyton Broughton (EKU) as Kentucky-based OVC verbal commitments in the Class of 2017.
The Governors had a forgettable 2015-2016 season, up until they stunningly swept through the competitive OVC Tournament. It was a magical ride that invigorated Clarksville, Tennessee.
Their push helped enhance a purportedly-dormant program. Rumors of the Governors’ demise were greatly exaggerated, to appropriate one of Mark Twain’s many famous quotes.
Austin Peay Class
The Govs will likely sign three players in the Class of 2017. Terry Taylor and Missourian Richard Henderson Jr. (Pattonville HS) started it off. The program really needs a point guard to round it out.
Still, locking in two players before September represents a wonderful focus on the part of the coaching staff.
