Hayden has a long wiry body that that allows him to be a tough defender. His speed is impressive in the open floor and he always has his head up which allows his teammates more opportunities.
Hayden just got back from a successful run with OKC Storm this past weekend in Kansas City. The 6’1 combo guard is encouraged by his play during this summer and is looking forward to more opportunities to show his talent. “I think it’s going well besides the exposure camp’s I have,” Hayden said.
Unselfishness is what makes Hayden an interesting prospect because he is willing to use his teammates to win. He thinks he is a step ahead of most guards in that aspect. “I feel like I get my team involved and see the floor better than most,” Hayden said.
Some weaknesses are difficult to improve but shooting a higher percentage is attainable with work. Hayden believes he needs to make open shots more consistently.
Hayden is entering his senior year at Edmond Santa Fe High School with a head coaching change. He is excited to see what the new coach has in mind for the program. “Just to see what he’s about and how he coaches and stuff,” Hayden said.
He has heard from UCO, Langston, and even Air Force on the recruiting trial and he is willing to make a decision when the time is right.
Hayden has a good motor that will be an asset at the next level. With a 30 second shot clock, you need someone who can create a play and someone who can stop a play from being made and Kristoff Hayden has that ability. “I think when I play aggressive on defense and offense people will follow,” Hayden said.
Division II’s should take a strong look at Hayden who can play both guard spots and has the ability to create shots for others.
