“I picked up a lot of interest lately. Samford is really coming after me, and Lipscomb, I’ve picked them up. And University of Denver has been calling me lately. And then Western Kentucky is still in the mix and Wright State,” said Wilkerson, who mentioned two which he feels may be the first to offer.
“I’m going to take an unofficial visit soon to Lipscomb soon. And then University of Denver, they’re kind of out there but they’ve really been showing a lot of interest in me also.”
Wilkerson was good last season as a junior with the Tigers, and says he’s been focused on improving his explosiveness this offseason.
“I’m mostly just working on my athleticism, and working on getting a lot stronger and getting up a lot easier. That’s really what’s separating me from my opponents is how athletic I’m getting,” said Wilkerson, who is playing with Southern Illinois Select for his 17U offseason.
“We’ve played in some really big tournaments and I’ve gotten a lot of exposure. This summer I just want to pick up a lot more interest and offers, that’s my main focus right now.”
Wilkerson will play with SI Select in St. Louis and Orlando to round out his July.
“All I’m worried about right now is picking up offers and some more interest,” he said. ‘And by the end of the summer I feel like I’ll have a couple offers.”
