He’s seen some very initial interest start to come his way for basketball, in the form of two Division I phone calls to his grassroots coach.
“There’s a couple schools in Texas that I know who have called my coach, they saw me play in Atlanta; one was Texas-Arlington and the other was Texas-El Paso. Those are the only two that I know of. I’ve gotten a lot of elite camp invites, but that’s it,” said Pitre.
“I’ll just go wherever the most interest come from.”
As he heads into his final season of high school ball, Pitre is working to improve his outside game. And wants to be a leader on his high school team, along with Division I prospect Tony Jackson.
“Last year I was really a rebounder and defender and this year I’m working on becoming a better scorer, and more my all-around game. I’m really working on my shot, I want to hit 3s consistently at a high rate,” said Pitre.
“I’ll be starting this year, and my goal is to — at the very least — be the second best player on the team.”
In the meantime, he’ll spend his summer with Team Vision on the 16u live period circuit.
“I’d like to get my first basketball scholarship. I think I played pretty good throughout the spring, and I though I played pretty good in Atlanta in the adidas Gauntlet,” saud Pitre.
“I hope it all comes together. It’s my senior year and I know I’ll have to play good if I want to go anywhere and play in college.”
