He is a scorer with the skills to score in all three phases of the game. This summer Steinmetz is playing with Oklahoma Impact he had goals that are a tad different than most players would answer.
“My goals are to win every game in July,” Steinmetz said. “Give 100 percent and be the best teammate I can be.”
Some colleges have reached out to Steinmetz, but he is hoping to garner more attention in July. SNU and John Brown are two schools that have reached out to Steinmetz.
The past two seasons have been remarkable for Fort Cobb winning back-to-back State Championships. The moments are unforgettable.
“Winning state was special,” Steinmetz said. “Growing up, our group would spend hours upon hours in the gym playing 3 on 3 dreaming about bringing home the gold ball. We have been blessed to do it twice.”
Steinmetz is easily described as a winner. He makes the plays on the floor that both show up in the stat sheet and many plays that don’t always show up in the stat sheet. Steinmetz is a gamer on the wing. Every team at the next level needs a player with the mentality to do what ever it takes to get a victory. Steinmetz ranks as one of the top Division II prospects in Oklahoma. The size he possess along with all of the skills make him a prime prospect.
Steinmetz has high goals for next season at Fort Cobb. He wants to go out strong.
“My goal for next high school season is to complete the three-peat,” Steinmetz said. “I want to be remember at Fort Cobb as a winner.”
The small college that lands Steinmetz will get a hard worker with great potential. Fort Cobb returns the favorite with Steinmetz and the Hines brothers leading the way.
