“My strong suits are attacking the basketball and finishing,” Catlett said. “I’m a great defender. I have a good shot. Mid-range is my key area to score from. I like flashing high-post and taking my defender off the dribble. And I’m a great rebounder – I will crash the boards no matter who’s in there.”
Catlett played a solid role in the Generals’ success last season. The player averaged 1.1 points and 0.9 rebounds per contest, but only appeared in 16 games. This year, Catlett says he is going to get recognized.
“My goals for this upcoming season are to get recognized by coaches, become a better teammate, score like I know I can, help my team reach state and have a killer senior season,” Catlett stated.
This summer, Catlett played for the Kentucky Dreamchasers AAU. He says he played well.
“I played with the Kentucky Dreamchasers,” Catlett told me. “I performed very well when playing at my position. But also played various positions, too, and performed great at them.”
In the classroom, the athlete says he is a great student.
“I’m a great student in the classroom,” Catlett said. “All my teachers love having me in their class. I make good grades. MY GPA is good, but I’m looking to make it better. I work hard in the classroom. Usually get all of my work done before class is out. Most of my teachers say I’m a favorite to them and know I have so much potential.”
Although he hasn’t received any offers or been shown any interest yet, Catlett says college programs and coaches should start to reach out because he is a good player.
“My game should catch coaches attention because I’m a very good player who knows how to play ball at a high level,” Catlett noted. “I’m a great teammate, my work ethic is high and good. My game is an all-around game. I score inside, mi-range and from three. I rebound very well. I have a great IQ on the court and I’m looking to better my game each and every day.”
