“I’m a better defender, and I block a lot of shots,” Burns said. “Just have to work on the offensive end.”
Although Burns didn’t see a ton of action for the Bears last season, the player says he will be on the floor a lot this year and wants to win.
“I would love for my team to come out of the 6th Region and go to state,” Burns told me. “I also want to pick up some college offers.”
He doesn’t have any offers or been shown interest yet, but the athlete says coaches and programs should start to reach out because he plays hard.
“I rebound, block shots and play hard,” Burns stated.
He may of not made the best of grades last school year, but the athlete says he is working hard this year.
“Last year, my grades weren’t the best, but I will stay focused this upcoming year,” Burns noted.
This summer, Burns played AAU with Louisville Lightning. He says he blocked a lot of shots.
“I played okay – blocked a lot of shots at Super Showcase in Orlando,” Burns said.
Burns is going to improve both his game and classwork, as he hopes to play at the next level in a couple years.
