Prep Hoops begins to breakdown the 2019 Class with the official Oklahoma 2019 Prospect Rankings releasing in August. Today, we highlight Ada Combo Guard Kobe Burgess.
Burgess stands at 6’2 with great quickness, the skills to score the basketball at a very high level and plays very hard on both ends of the floor.
Burgess plays for Team 4 XIII in the summer on the grassroots circuit. He had a very successful spring leading Team 4 XIII to several tournament wins. Burgess has big goals for the July live periods with Team 4XIII.
“My goals for the rest of the AAU season is to get better as a team,” Burgess said. “Make people notice us.”
Burgess is a difference maker with the rock in his hands at the Point or the two. I think Burgess will ultimately end up at the Point at the next level.
Burgess has Division I potential written all over his game. The first time I watched Burgess play he did not shoot the ball that well, but found ways to effect the game playing great on ball defense and taking the ball to the basket.
Last season at Ada Burgess lead the Cougars to the state tournament. In one of the biggest upsets of the year Ada upset Tulsa Central in the first round of the state tournament. Burgess hopes to return to the state tournament in his sophomore season. He is hoping to catch the eyes of coaches as well.
Burgess has a great chance to be a top five prospect in the 2019 Oklahoma Class. Prep Hoops will continue to breakdown the Oklahoma 2019 Class throughout the month of July.
