He is a crafty Point Guard that will catch you off guard with some of his skills. Shepherd is a very clutch jump shooter, which stretches the defense. He creates with the ball in his hands, but has the talent to play off the ball and be effective as a catch and shoot guard.
Shepherd is smart in the classroom, which has drawn interest from some of the higher academic schools in the country. He projects to the small college level.
Shepherd is working on getting stronger this summer to help him prepare for the next level.
He has played with Oklahoma Impact this summer traveling across the country to play against upper level competition. The level of play has helped him prepare for his senior year at Fort Gibson.
This year Fort Gibson will have more of a target on their backs after their great run in the State Tournament a year ago. Fort Gibson has never won a State Championship. Shepherd has hopes of changing that.
“My goals for the next year are to hopefully lead Fort Gibson to it’s first boys basketball State Title,” Shepherd said. “Coming up short last year has helped motivate me to work even harder in the off season. I definitely don’t want to walk away with that feeling again.”
Shepherd should garner more small college interest following the July live periods. He is set for a huge senior season at Fort Gibson.
