“I’m a strong jump-shooter and can get to the foul line, and I’m just blossoming my game everyday in the gym,” Fay said.
Fay played a dominant role in the Commodores success last season. The athlete averaged 7.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest and also dished out a significant amount of assists. This year, Fay says he wants to be successful.
“My goals for this season are to establish a better record from what we had last year, and just carry my team further than the First Round of the tournament, like we did last year,” Fay stated.
Fay played for the Kentucky Dream Chasers this summer. He says he played well.
“I played for the KY Dream Chasers AAU this summer,” Fay told me. “I performed great by scoring 20 or more points almost every game.”
In the classroom, the athlete says he is a good student.
“In the classroom, I am a good student,” Fay said. “I’m a 3.0 student and always put school before basketball.”
Although he hasn’t received any offers or been shown any interest yet, Fay says coaches and programs should start to reach out because he has worked extremely hard.
“I should catch colleges’ and coaches’ eyes because of what I do on and off of the court,” Fay stated. “Some kids are blessed, I wasn’t. I had to work for everything and still am. I’m working everyday wanting to go up against the best and go at them, just to show them I work just as hard as they do. And a ranking is just a ranking. Hard work can determine who’s better and I just have such an all-around game and I take coaching seriously.
“I listen to what my coach has to say because they have been through it already and they just want me to be the best I can be.”
