“I am skilled,” Campbell said. “I can handle the ball. I can shoot it, and I am strong in the post. I can block shots and rebound well. In the game, I get most of my points from offensive boards and posting up and scoring with a man on my back.”
Campbell played a solid role in the Blue Devils’ success last season. The player did whatever he had to do in order to help his team win. Although he may of not seen a ton of action and recorded mind-blowing numbers, Campbell says he is ready to be effective this year.
“I am looking to start on Varsity, and just be as effective as I can at the 5-spot, and just work as hard as I can until I get there,” Campbell told me.
Campbell played on the AAU Circuit with an Ohio team for a little while this summer. He said he played well.
“I played with an Ohio team for a little bit, but for the most part I didn’t play with anyone,” Campbell said. “I performed well.”
Although he doesn’t have any offers or been shown any interest yet, the athlete says his game should catch college coaches’ and programs’ eyes because he works hard.
“I work hard on and off the court – including the classroom,” Campbell stated. “I have a high-motor, am skilled, my height, my defensive presence and my ability to rebound, block shots and score.”
In the classroom, Campbell says he makes good grades.
“School comes first,” Campbell noted. “I work very hard. I have a 4.0 GPA.”
Campbell, who is only in his second season as a high-school player, is going to work hard to attract programs in hopes of one day playing at the next level. PrepHoopsKentucky.com will continue to track him.
