Midwest City
The Bombers made a trip to the finals at Oklahoma Team Camp. Keyshawn Embery led the way for Midwest City scoring the ball at a high level. The Bombers will be a top five squad in Class 6A heading into next season.
Edmond North
For anyone that thinks Edmond North will fall off the face of the earth after a near undefeated season ago, they are incorrect. The Huskies will have some growing pains with the loss of a large senior class, but Terry Evans will have Edmond North back in the top 10 in Class 6A making a run at the State Tournament. Harrison Stoddart and Marques Wilson will be a tough duo to contain.
El Reno
The Indians had a great weekend, which included a win over Midwest City at the buzzer in pool play. Callen Haydon scored the ball very well at the Point. He will have some help this year with Kale Owens and newcomer Dyson Plumley. El Reno will be in the top 5 in Class 5A to begin the year.
Ada
I really like Ada to be one of the favorites next year in Class 4A. Ben Pruitt is a legit 6’5 wing with Division II talent. He scores the ball in all three phases of the game. They will have the best duo in 4A with Pruitt and Kobe Burgess who might be the best player in the 2019 Class. Ada is in the conversation to be the preseason #1 in Class 4A.
Norman North
Trae Young makes Norman North go with his ability to lead at the Point. Some think of Young as a scorer, which yes he is a great scorer especially from three-point range, but this season Young will show Oklahoma his talent to make other players around him better. Young led the young Norman North squad to the semifinals of the Oklahoma Team Camp. Norman North will be a top five team to begin the year in Class 6A.
Tulsa Memorial
The Chargers have a great mixture of seniors and young talented players. Caleb Nero, Kobe Rose and Kalen Childs headline the Tulsa Memorial senior class. Some newcomers to watch out for include Kori Guest, Kalib Boone, Keylan Boone and Julian Cockrell. The Tulsa Memorial Chargers will head into the year as the number two team right behind Carl Albert.
Norman
Norman has a new look with energy from first year head coach Rodney Dindy. He will lead Norman to more victories next season in Class 6A. They have a lot of guys that have talent, but have yet to completely mesh. Once they mesh they could pull off an upset or two next season. Jacob Ogle and Brandis Fender are two names to lookout for on the Tigers squad.
Yukon
The Millers struggled at Oklahoma team camp battling a rash of injuries. If Cameron Martin is healthy coming off his knee injury the Millers will have a chance to do some damage in Class 6A. Their guards must play better and limit turnovers if they want to make some noise. If Martin is healthy Yukon is a top ten squad in Class 6A.
Owasso
The Rams were playing without standout athlete Josh Procter at OU Team Camp. They struggled to get victories at times, but one thing is for sure Owasso never lets up on the court and always plays hard. They have a good group of talent coming up as the JV won the lower division at OU Team Camp.
Mount Saint Mary’s
Stephon Hall leads the attack for the Mount. They struggled in the higher division at times, but it will pay off dividends in the long run. Look for the Mount to make a serious run at the state tournament next year.
Edmond Memorial
The Bulldogs look completely different with the graduation of Kristian Doolittle. Edmond Memorial will be down talent wise next year, but they will still have success due to several things. Great coaching, team basketball and the players buying in will lead to Edmond Memorial winning games next season.
Lawton Ike
The Eagles showed they are once again a top tier contender in Class 5A with athletes all over the floor. Romio Harvey and RJ Fisher lead the way for Ike at the one and two. Harvey has really improved his ball handling skills, which allows him to act as the one at times. Lawton Ike has players at every position with speed, athleticism, toughness and the ability to shoot the three-pointer.
Union
The Redskins won the OU Team Camp with an unblemished record. The two Star Forwards Ethan Chargois and Adrian Rodriguez inside were too much for every opponent. Union is not a great three-point shooting team. However, the Redskins showed they have the skill to get hot from behind the arc. When Union is hitting the three-point shot they unbeatable against Oklahoma squads. The Redkins will be in the top three to begin the season next year.
Harrah
The Harrah squad looks completely different after losing a great senior class. Brady Manek returns at Forward to lead the way for the Panthers. Many small guards will see the floor for Harrah. They have to get Manek as many touches as possible. Harrah will begin the year towards the back end of the top ten in Class 4A.
Purcell
Purcell made a terrific run at Oklahoma Team Camp. They are the definition of team basketball moving the ball constantly to get the best look. Purcell will make some noise next year on the hardwood.
Sequoyah Tahlequah
Sequoyah Tahlequah has the look of a state tournament squad. They have shooters all over the floor with the ability to smoke teams from behind the arc. The Indians made a deep run at OU Team Camp.
