“I’m kind of like a glue guy. I just kind of fit into my role and do what’s needed,” Myers began. “Defensive end, offensive end, whatever my team needs I’m there to give it to them.”
Myers is underrated off the bounce. The 6-foot-3 guard attacks closeouts well and takes advantage of the fact that he’s regarded as a 3-point threat. He’s also a confident finisher in the lane around bigs. At the next level, he sees himself most effective off the ball.
“I like point guard but I think I can exploit my size at the wing guard and guard a bunch of positions,” Myers explained. “I feel like a versatile guy. I can play a whole bunch of positions.”
In the WCAC, arguably the best high school basketball league in the country, Myers has the luxury of playing off the ball with two of the best playmakers in the league. He will likely see a lot of good looks, and is preparing for those opportunities.
“I’m working a lot on my shot,” said Myers. “I wanna get way more consistent with that. I know I’m going to have to play around Chris (Lykes) and Prentiss (Hubb) so I know I’m going to have to hit those open shots so I’m working on being more consistent from three point and mid range.”
Myers is a strong student, boasting a robust 3.6 GPA. Division 3 schools are all over him. Babson, Williams, Tufts, and Salisbury to a name a few. Myers visited Brown last weekend. He’s also gone up to Massachusetts to visit Babson. Salisbury played host to him this past Wednesday. Myers is planning a return trip up north to visit Williams and Tufts as well.
“I just want a place where I’m happy on and off the court. A place that can really set me up and life and somewhere that I’m happy,” said Myers about the type of school he’s looking for. “Even if it’s not basketball I just want to be at a place where the camaraderie is good. Winning basketball that’s all I want to be a part of.”
