Nicholls State and Tennessee Tech became the third and fourth schools to offer the 6-foot-4 small forward, respectively. And as far as who might be next, he’s not really sure.
“My coach talks to most of the schools recruiting me, so I really don’t know who might be close to offering next,” said Tobler, who has a pretty laid-back approach to his recruitment.
“I just want to go somewhere that’s a great fit for me. The recruitment has never been too much of a worry for me because I know things come when you wait, and I’ve been waiting. Senior season is what I’m really looking forward to; everything else is just distractions.”
Because his senior season with the Commodores is what’s most important to him right now, Tobler says he’ll wait until after the season before he makes a college decision.
“I’m going to take visits as the school year goes on,” he said. “And as far as commitment, I’ll probably wait until after the school season, so I have nothing else to focus on but the school season.”
In the meantime he’ll spend his 17U summer with Team Manimal, and his objective: just to have some fun.
“We did OK in the spring, we could have done better. But we were just starting out with each other and trying to figure out one-another. Hopefully we make some noise this July and just do what we have to do,” said Tobler.
“And really, I just want to have fun. It’s my last summer so I have to have fun with it.”
