Last year Moore picked up two Division I offers, from Southeast Missouri State and Samford. And he says there’s one other school, Ball State, that will offer him very soon.
“I’m going on a visit to Ball State soon. And I have interest from Kent State, Indiana State, Ohio, Austin Peay (State) wants me to come to campus, and IUPUI has talked to me a few times,” said Moore.
“Ball State is my most recent offer, but I talked to one of their players and they say that I do have an offer from them, but they want it to be legit when I go up there on my visit next week. They said they can’t offer me until I come on campus.”
With just one more July left to showcase himself, Moore — Kentucky’s 6th-ranked 2017 — says he’d like to get a high-major offer, and hopefully that could boost his stock moving forward.
“I think my recruitment is my biggest thing right now, it’s all I think about lately because last year I know I played good with the Travelers, but I think I could have done a lot of things better. I’m hoping this spring I can get an offer from one bigger school, like a high-major, and get some more attention like that.”
Known as a stand-still sharpshooter and scorer, Moore is still that, but says he’s been working hard to become a better team player, and to be able to create his own looks.
“Over the last year I think I’ve changed from being just a spot-up shooter to now I can get the ball and score on my own and create my own looks. But then I’ve also become more team-involved and have gotten them (teammates) involved and grabbed more rebounds and things like that,” said Moore, who will spend his July with Louisville Magic 17U.
He explained what his role has been with the Magic this spring so far.
“When I came on that team the coach kind of looked at me to be a role player. But then after our first tournament in Milwaukee I was scoring a ton, and since then they’ve been relying on me to be a key scorer, and to just score the ball when I need to.”
