Knocked out all seven of his foul shot attempts for a game high 21 points, made a couple treys, actively got to space for his 6 of 11 shooting effort doing a great job of extending over the rotating or scrambling defenders to complete around the rim. Seems like a kid that can work his way into a nice winter role.
Matt Eliason (tMBA Witthus, 6-0, SG, Chaska). Matt made one shot. That’s it. But I guarantee you his coach commended him in the postgame meeting for his incredible rate of battle. Here is a guy chasing down loose balls when others had given up. Here’s a working defender that was fight like a 300 general to keep his man in front of him. Here is a 72 inch player that had a game high nine rebounds. All teams can find a spot for a guy like this.
Carson Hollowaty (tMBA Witthus, 5-8, SG, Chanhassen). Carson’s paragraph does need much space to write, the message is easy. The young shooter was scorching hot hitting all of his field goal attempts including four treys. His run of three mid-game triples took a close game and made it a double figure affair.
Manny Jingco (Fury Antl, 5-11, PG, Stillwater). Love how he pressures the ball, how he cuts off penetration, how his first instinct is to all out dive on the floor, and how he pushes at 100 percent effort but has the smarts to pull-up and set things up. Has strong vision at lead guard and wastes no motion with how he moves the ball. Can score too, showed range on his jumper.
Sawyer Levos (Fury Antl, 6-3, SF, Hastings). The well is not dry over in Hastings. Sawyer is an agile, long armed three man who seems to have the ball handling and quick step to beat other forwards to the cup and he can score softly on the move. A guy that has the potential to score on three levels and we saw that today, because he scored on three levels.
Luke Siwek (Fury Antl, 6-0, PG, Rosemount). Siwek went for 20 in a win over ECI and it was one of the more enlightening performances because he didn’t just introduce himself with a basket here or there, he flew to the rim to complete, attacked gaps hard and softly touched in, and also hit deep treys. Rosemount will be better with the Loehrs up front and Luke providing someplace. Nice player.
Carter Uphus (Fury Antl, 6-6, PF, BSM). First gave us an up and under that was the best up and under I’ve seen all spring and summer. Then pivoted into a one hand baby hook, later ran the floor and scored, and finally put his last basket up with a strong pivot into a power move. Really liked him around the basket. Has a promising future.
