Twin Cities Takedown. We go basketball in bullet points for the rundown of top TC Takedown performers.
- Is D1 Minnesota ‘s top 16s the best AAU team in state regardless of class? After they handily beat Select Ohnstad, Lightning King, Colorado Miners and the Powerhouse team from Illinois at the 17s level this past weekend that debate can surely be had.
- They weren’t the only 16s going 4-0 against 17u opponent this past weekend, Team FSA had a 4-0 record at that level as well beating two teams handily and the other to teams in tight, hard fought games.
- D1 Minnesota Gold faced a nice set of opponents this past weekend and beat all of them impressively. A team that has shown to be much better than expected.
- Border Select Basketball Westburg needs a higher set of opponents for sure after they went undefeated for the second weekend of play this month.
- Another team that needs a bump up opponent wise as their record is looking strong is East Metro Bounce Blue who went 4-0 over the weekend.
- And the WOTN Teams! These three 16u teams were a combined 11-1! The Kranz, Hannah AND Foley teams are all getting better with every game and we have seen it in these PH events.
Midwest Festival of Teams. Minnesota Fury Antl suffered their first loss of the season in Iowa falling to Kingdom Hoops by a single point. They got over that quite fast though beating that same Kingdom Hoops team in the final game of the event, by 19 points.
Denver Showcase. The Comets Elite team ran through three teams in Denver easily and then outlasted a good B&B Academy team by a score. Seems like just about every Minnesota team wants to jump out for a nice trip to Denver (seems like it has replaced Vegas in many cases?) and the Comets did that as well, and won four games while they were at it. Comets Petermeier was also there and went 3-1.
Spring Extravaganza. Gain Elite came into the NY2LA event undefeated but lost their last three games. They were in Pool D of the event, went 1-2 in pool play, and then lost their first game in bracket play.
