Prep Hoops scouted the Oklahoma Team Camp on Friday. The list below has several recognizable names from the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Oklahoma Classes. Get a look at what players continued to elevate their stock on Friday.
Keyshawn Embery 2018 Midwest City Point Guard
Embery shot the ball well from the floor on Friday to kick off Oklahoma Team Camp. He continued his consistent play that he has shown throughout the spring. Embery dominated by getting to the basket off the dribble. He projects as high major Division I prospect.
Jalen Crutchfield 2018 Norman North Shooting Guard
Crutchfield did not see many minutes last year for Norman North as a young sophomore, but that will change this season. If Friday morning was any sign of the way Crutchfield will play this year then he is set for a breakout year. He shot the ball very well from 3-PT land and even hit a mid-range jumper off the dribble. If Crutchfield can continue to improve his ball handling skills and defense his stock could sky rocket.
Winston Nelson 2017 Norman North Small Forward
Nelson stands at every bit of 6’7 for Norman North. He played his majority of time in the paint on defense as the anchor of the 2-3 zone. However, on offense Nelson played more on the wing showing off his ability to drive to the hoop and finish. Nelson needs to continue to work on his jumper, but if he does he could be a Division II’s dream as a 3 or stretch four.
Harrison Stoddart 2017 Edmond North Power Forward
Stoddart might be the most improved player in the 2017 Class. He shot the ball extremely well from three-point range on Friday. He is so much tougher, which has allowed him to bang in the paint. As a stretch four at every bit of 6’7 1/2 you can’t want much more. The knock on Stoddart is his athleticism. However, his ability to pick and pop with great jump shooting makes up for what he lacks. Stoddart projects as a Low Division I prospect.
Kobe Burgess 2019 Ada Point Guard
Burgess might be the best player in the 2019 Oklahoma Class. He has a very smooth offensive game and although he is possible the best scoring option on his squad he is not selfish one bit. Burgess has a lethal three-point shot with the quickness to blow past his defender to the rim. He displayed a nice floater in the lane on Friday. Burgess projects as a Division I prospect at the next level.
Marques Wilson 2017 Edmond North Combo Guard
Wilson played a little at the Point, but mainly at the two for Edmond North at Oklahoma Team Camp on Monday. He did a great job of finding his spots on the floor to hit shots. Wilson is one of the best in the 2017 Oklahoma Class at creating his own shot. Wilson shot the three-point shot consistently on Friday. He has learned one the past year to not solely rely on the three-point shot and take it to the cup using his strength to finish in the paint. Wilson is projected as a MM Division I prospect at the next level.
Ben Pruitt 2017 Ada Shooting Guard
Pruitt has improved every time I watch him as a basketball player on the wing. He stands at every bit of 6’4 on the wing with the ability to light up defenses from deep. Pruitt is an outstanding golfer, but if he wants to purse basketball he will have options. Pruitt was not great on defense, but plays hard and is certainly not a liability. Pruitt projects as a Division II to NAIA prospect.
Brady Manek 2017 Harrah Small Forward
Manek was a man amongst boys on Friday. He dominated in the paint finishing well in traffic. Manek was clearly the best player on the floor each game. He makes things look way to easy at times with Harrah. Manek caught ally-oops all day long. He played a lot at the 5 for Harrah, but did get out on the wing offensively and show his touch as well. Manek is committed to Oklahoma.
