The strong and athletic 6-foot-5 dynamo has been a standout with Team Wall on the grassroots circuit this spring. The rising senior out of Northwest Guilford High School has earned his stripes among top competition.
Davis was named the dunk champion of the 2016 Chance Harman Classic. His team was responsible for a convincing win in the tournament vs. North Cross School. His stock has been on the uptick among recruiting circles since he broke out that weekend in Floyd, VA. Widely considered a high level athlete with a tireless motor who plays above the rim on both ends, Davis worked hard on sharpening his skill-set and believes the results are starting to pay off.
“I’d say my jump shot is probably the most underrated part of my game,” Davis began. “I haven’t shot it great the past few years, but I’ve been working on it. Now that I got it, people don’t really know it’s there so I just pull it out on them.”
Reggie admits he is still continuing to develop his skill-set. His major focuses right now are improving his ball handling and working on being more consistent with his shot. Rather surprisingly, he is yet to receive his first offer, but there is some serious interest from a variety of schools.
“JMU, Air Force, Elon, and UNCG are recruiting me,” Davis stated. “I took one visit to Furman, and I’m planning to visit Georgia Tech at the end of July.”
Given his commitment to high academics, which is evident by his 3.4 GPA, he could be on the radar of Ivy and Patriot League schools in the near future. One thing that Davis has made very clear, is that he produces at a high level, which was evident by his double-double average during the high school season. Don’t be surprised to see his recruitment begin to heat up during the July live period.
