He has flown largely under-the-radar up to this point, and after moving to Kentucky last year from New York he’s heard from just one college program.
“I have interest from Middle Tennessee State. They just said they’d be coming to some of my games,” said Henry.
“Recruiting is everything to me right now. I’m trying to get into better shape and keep my grades up so I can get to college and keep playing.”
The 2018 big-man defined to PHO what is it he’s best at.
“I’m good in the post, and I have a little jump-shot too. I like to run a pick-and-roll offense, and I block shots and rebound,” said Henry, who says he averaged 10 points and 9 rebounds per game last season.
“My role was just to rebound and defend, and to get the ball in the post and finish.”
Now in his first offseason with New Heights, he said his role is much the same as it is with his high school team.
“They need me to box-out, rebound, and defend. And like in high school ball, just finish when I get the ball down low,” said Henry, who explained to PHO why it was he picked New Heights as his grassroots program.
“I ‘like how they treat their players. And one of my teammates played with them and he says the chemistry is good, and he liked them.”
