The athletic 2017 says his recruitment has started, and his mom is handling it all right now.
“My mom says she has talked to some schools, but she doesn’t really tell me who. She has a list of who’s all interested,” said Leach, PHK’s 82nd-ranked 2017.
“I’m going back to watch a bunch of film from last season to see what I can do better, and I’m working hard to get better. And this summer I’m just going to play my role, stick to it, and I’m hoping to get a lot more looks.”
A cerebral player, who likes to exploit mismatches, Leach explained his style of play to PHK.
“I like to get everybody involved first and get the flow of the game. And then I’ll rebound, get a lot of putbacks, and post up. I like to locate mismatches and the opponent’s weaknesses, and then exploit those later in the game,” said Leach.
“I need to work on my free throws, I can hit them when it’s crunch-time, but still it’s my weakness. That’s my goal this summer is to get a whole lot better at the line.”
Another goal of his while playing with River City Rockets 17U is to add some strength.
“My goal is to get a lot stronger,” he said. “I’m strong now, and I can take contact, but I need to add a lot more weight to get here I need to go in college.”
