There’s a certain presence that this unsigned point guard brings to a team — KCG is the embodiment of a court general.
Coleman-Graham currently has interest from Division II programs along with a particular Division I in our nation’s capital.
“I have zero offers right now. There’s a couple D-IIs looking at me, and I’m in contact with American University in D.C.,” Coleman-Graham said. “[Playing division I] is the main focus right now.”
While the clever point guard has been impressing for years, he truly arrived last season as a junior, earning First Team honors in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC).
“I just try to be a complete point guard. I want my size to be the only knock on my game,” Coleman-Graham said.
While that physical disadvantage may exist, he has a knack for getting separation. That space he creates leads to help defenders, simple passing lanes, and an occasional pull-up jumper.
“I want to make some of my reads quicker. I don’t want to use five dribbles to set up a teammate. Just try to limit dribbles and make more effective moves,” Coleman-Graham said.
Currently KCG being forced to sit out a few weeks because of a wart on his right foot. However, this first-time injury is only motivating him.
“Right now I’m not [playing AAU], I have an injury on my right foot, I have a wart.”
“I’ll be playing in July … Basketball is calling my name. I need to stay off of it for two weeks to let it heal,” Coleman-Graham said on May 17, when Prep Hoops spoke to him. “This is the first time experiencing it … As soon as I’m off the court, I know someone is trying to get better than me.”
Coleman-Graham will be playing with an unnamed AAU team when he gets back. Follow @prephoopsOH on Twitter for updates about the Toledo point guard’s return to the court.
