It looks as though Division II and NAIA schools have identified Wildermuth as a guy to go after.
“I got an offer from Urbana. And I have interest from West Liberty and Findlay — they’re showing me the most love right now” said Wildermuth. “And I also have interest from Grace in Indiana, UNOH, Lake Erie, Wheeling-Jesuit, and Nova Southeastern. It definitely has taken off and hopefully it will only go higher from here.”
The talented and versatile wing is hoping to have a few more offers by summer’s end, and says ideally he can make a decision before his senior season begins.
“I really don’t know yet when I’ll make a decision; it’s something I haven’t really thought about yet, honestly. I was kind of wanting to decide before my senior season starts. But I mean, I don’t know for sure yet.”
Wildermuth prides himself on being a versatile prospect, and says he’s been working lately on improving his shooting.
“I’ve really been working on my pull-up and my outside shooting, just trying to be a versatile as I really can be. And I’m really working on being able to defend the one through the five,” said Wildermuth, who averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game last season with the Tigers.
“I had a bunch of roles last season; scoring was definitely a big one, and also defense, and really just doing whatever coach needed me to do.”
This summer Wildermuth will play with Ohio Unity 17U, and says his role is to be versatile and and his goals are to win and get noticed doing it.
“I feel like I’ve played very well with them. They need me to play with a high motor and to guard one through five, and just be versatile whenever I can,” he said.
“I’m trying to get my name out there a little more, and maybe get another offer or two and try and win some tournaments.”
