Chris Orlina | 2016 | Team Melo 17U
Chris attacked the basket strong, and demonstrated the ability to efficiently finish through contact all afternoon. The strong, 6-foot-7 wing is a good passer with a nice feel for the game. He filled the lanes correctly in transition and finished above the rim with athleticism and force. In a final four win vs. Team Takeover Orange, he led his team with 26 points.
Terrence Lewis | 2017 | Team Takeover Orange 17U
Terrence expends a tremendous amount of energy on both ends of the floor. He’s a good rebounder who is quick to react to loose balls. He’s very long and does a nice job contesting shots at the rim, and also has a soft touch. One thing that was pretty evident was his ability to look ahead and throw an outlet pass after securing a defensive rebound. The mobile, 6-foot-6 forward loves to get out and run. He averaged a double-double on championship Sunday.
Keleaf Tate | 2017 | Team Takeover Orange 17U
Keleaf is a major sleeper in the DMV region. At 6-foot-2, he’s a long-limbed guard with a smooth jumper and solid athleticism. He got hot this afternoon and hit four threes in a game vs. Team Melo. Keleaf has a quick first step and is a crafty finisher around the basket.
Justin Moore | 2019 | Team Takeover Black 16U
Justin continues to impress with his maturity and high IQ. He does a good job crashing the offensive glass, and quickly puts the ball back in after securing a miss. He once again demonstrated an efficient stroke from long range, especially from the catch. His strength was evident on his drives to the basket, where he was seen finishing effectively through contact.
Jalen Smith | 2018 | Team Takeover Black 16U
Jalen absolutely dominated the paint area defensively. The lanky, 6-foot-9 power forward has excellent timing when contesting shots. He can really elevate, has strong hands, and does a nice job rebounding in traffic. He showed off his touch from long range, illustrating a quick and confident release on a made three and several mid range jumpers. He plays above the rim on both ends, and has a tireless work rate. He recorded 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks in his team’s championship win vs. Team Melo.
Xavier Johnson | 2018 | Team Takeover Black 16U
Xavier used his length to wreak havoc defensively. His awareness in conjunction with his blazing speed and quick hands resulted in several steals which he quickly converted into scoring opportunities for his team. Xavier does a great job selling contact, and positioning himself to take charges. He is a high level playmaker on both ends of the court, and that was evident offensively where he dished out 5 assists.
