17U Rankings
1. Oklahoma Run PWP
Oklahoma Run PWP takes the top spot as they head to Los Angles with a great chance to make the Under Armour Finals in July. They enter the weekend 3-5 in the Under Armour Circuit. Caleb Bennett leads the way for Oklahoma Run PWP on the wing. Bennett is a 6’4 scorer that can change a game in a moments notice. 2018 Guard Keyshawn Embery is right behind Bennett coming up big for Oklahoma Run PWP. Two players that have been key surprises for PWP are the Posts Adrian Rodriguez and Harrison Stoddart. PWP needs at least 2 wins this weekend in LA to qualify for the Finals as they are two spots outside of making the Finals.
2. Team Griffin
Team Griffin falls to the second spot in the state after a tough weekend in Hampton, Virginia. On the Nike EYBL Circuit Team Griffin has posted a record of 3-8. However, there is much more to the story than the record of Team Griffin. They have had 5 games decided by a couple of points in the final minutes of games including several overtime games. Team Griffin still has a chance to go to Peach Jam for the third straight year with a good performance in Atlanta this weekend. Brady Manek and Ethan Chargois have led the way for Team Griffin. Guards Caleb Nero and Marques Wilson had big performances in Hampton. Don’t be surprised if Team Griffin makes a push and ends up making a run at Peach Jam.
3. BTR (Below The Rim)
Below The Rim makes a huge jump in the 17U Rankings to the third spot after winning the Prep Hoops Oklahoma State Tournament. They are well coached and a very discipline grassroots program. What makes BTR so tough is several players can hurt you. Payton Bradley is a lock down defender on the wing. Nick Robinson is a great athlete that is effective on both ends. Coryon Mason holds it down at the point making plays non-stop. Chris Potts is huge behind the three-point line hitting big shots. Owen Atkinson creates mismatches for BTR in the paint on both ends of the floor with his quickness. You could go on and on about BTR with the team basketball they play. George Price is another key piece for BTR that excels at getting buckets.
4. OKC Primetime
Gerren Jackson leads the charge for OKC Primetime making plays with the rock in his hands. Jackson has the chance to be the hidden gem of the 2017 Oklahoma Class. Jackson elevates others games on the floor to another level, which adds to his greatness. Primetime has another player that will be a steal where ever he ends up at the next level in, Ron Walker. Walker is a tough defender who has improved immensely over the past year. Walker is finishing at the rim, which has taken his game to new heights. Callen Haydon is an absolute scorer from the guard spot. He can shoot the ball at an extremely high level from the outside. OKC Primetime is a very tough team to handle.
5. Oklahoma Servants
The Oklahoma Servants are the definition of “Team Basketball.” They have no star player, but move the ball very well and have players on the perimeter that hit big shots. Ben Jenkins handles business in the paint for the Oklahoma Servants causing havoc for opponents. Tye Blaine is a guard to watch for on the Oklahoma Servants. Blaine has turned into a nice shooter from the outside. The Servants play nearly every team they face tough with their great ball movement and tough defense.
