Though he’s been invited to camps and showcases this summer, he has yet to receive mail or inquiries from college coaches. He knows this is the summer when he can change that.
“I think this is the most important summer for me,” said Hill. “And it’s really when I can start stepping up and showcasing what I can do and stuff like that.”
A good-sized guard with playmaking ability, Hill defined his playing style — strengths and weaknesses — to PHO.
“I think my speed and quickness, and the just my playmaking ability make me good. Also the ability to handle the ball at size, and then my jumping ability and my defense. And I’m really working to improve my 3-point shooting right now,” said Hill.
“I’m more comfortable as a point guard because when the ball is in my hands I like to make things happen. I would like to improve on my 3-point shooting a little bit and my ball-handling.”
After a nice sophomore season as the starting point guard for Fern Creek, Hill heads into his 16U season with the Louisville Magic, which will be playing on the adidas Gauntlet.
“They just need me to be a leader on the team, and they want me to be more aggressive than I was last year, and just be more vocal and stuff,” said Hill. “Some of my goals for the summer are to get more offers, and get out there and make a bigger name for myself.”
