In addition to his offer, the 6-foot-1 Cincinnati Wyoming guard is hearing some from a couple Division I programs, and additional D2s.
“I received an offer from Ashland University and that was a little bit before my junior season started. I’ve heard from Colgate lately, they invited me to their elite camp again, and Navy has invited me to their elite camp again. I’ve heard from Findlay too, and Fairmont State, they came to watch me work out and they like me, they’re looking at me a lot too,” said Grayson.
“I feel like the most interest would probably be Fairmont State, they’d probably be the school that’s closest to offering me next.”
As he heads into his first live period of his 17U season, Grayson says his recruitment is a top priority for him.
“It’s one of my life goals to play in college so it’s really big for me,” he said. “I just expect to have a great summer and just show the coaches what I can do on and off the court.”
Already a strong shooter and floor general, the talented junior says his ball-handling is an area he’s both improved the most and he needs to continue to improve.
“I think I’ve improved the most probably on my shooting off the dribbble. I’ve also improved on my ball-handling,” said Grayson. “I’m trying to just prepare for college too, and enhance my point guard skills, and ball-handling is one big thing that I need to work on to be at the level I think I need to be to excel at the college game.
He’ll spend his next two weekends playing in live periods on the adidas Gauntlet with Ohio Basketball Club White. He’s hoping for a nice showing.
“I want to make it to the (adidas) gauntlet session in South Carolina, so we have to do good in Texas this weekend and Georgia next weekend,” said Grayson. “I just want to go to those tournaments and play well, and basically just win all the tournaments we are in.”
