“I really don’t have any coaches calling me, not just yet. But I have letters from Kentucky Wesleyan, and I visited Troy and Western Kentucky,” said Jones.
“It (recruitment) is a priority for me, I really want to go to college to play ball, and I’m kind of looking for more recruitment to come, actually.”
Jones considers himself a dual-threat player, able to bang inside and developing an ability to play on the perimeter. He splits his time equally between the two right now.
“In high school I play in the post, and they are trying to get me to where I can hit shots on the perimeter. And with my AAU team this summer I’ll be playing more on the perimeter,” said Jones.
“I need to work on my left hand most, and then I need to work on my dribbling a little bit more, and then my shooting of course.”
The talented junior will play his 17U season with Western Kentucky Elite, and says the goal is simply to win and get recruited.
“I just want to win as many games as we can,” said Jones. “And I just want to put myself in a position to play college ball.”
