Jake completed his third season at Horizon High School this season. While the Huskies were inconsistent they did show some bright spots at times leaving room for optimism for the future.
“I felt like we had a good season,” started Hess. “It could have been better.
Hess, the top college prospect for the Huskies, averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds, and just under 3 blocks.
An athletic and mobile prospect, Jake has a lot of unteachable physical tools. He plays with a motor and has improving offensive skills.
“I improved a lot on my post work and free throws (this season).”
While he’s made strides, Hess is just starting to tap into his potential. A prospect with great upside, expect his best years to still be ahead of him.
During the spring Jake is playing with Arizona Power North Platinum.
“I’m excited for this upcoming club season. I feel like we will do really well.”
While no schools have offered Hess mentioned Weber State and Point Loma are among the schools that have shown some interest.
Still up in the school about his major, Jake stated “I’m looking for a school with (either) a good psychology program or a good law program.” The class of 2017 prospect currently carries a 2.7 GPA but has yet to take his ACT or SAT.
“I’ll probably make a decision after (my senior) basketball season.”
