The 6-foot-11 Graves County center has already been offered by Tulsa, Western Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee State. And has recently started hearing from one Western high-major.
“I’ve gotten a lot of interest from UAB and Samford, those are two I might get an offer from soon. And I’ve talked a lot recently to Arizona State, Boston University and Yale,” said Vogt, who detailed his ASU interest.
“I’ve just been talking to them recently, and I think their main thing they really need a shot-blocker and that’s what they like about me. That’s the main reason they’re recruiting me.”
With just one offseason left to showcase his talents, Vogt has put his recruitment as a priority right now.
“I’m definitely focused on it, I’m trying to increase my recruitment in any way possible,” he said. “I’m putting out highlight tapes and just playing my best in front of college coaches, we’ll just see what happens.”
Kentucky’s 10th-ranked 2017, Vogt went on to define his style of play to PHK.
“I’m best on the low block, but I have the ability to step out and make a mid-range jump shot. On defense I’m able to alter shots and block shots,” said Vogt.
“I’m going to work on my strength, just adding weight and getting stronger. I’m about 215 right now, I guess a goal weight would be about 230.
He recently played in his first-ever tournament with Louisville Magic, in year’s past he had been with EYBL Travelers.
“One of the big parts of playing with the Magic was their coach was a player at Louisville and in the NBA, and he’ll be able to work with me and make me better,” said Vogt.
“I’m probably going to work on my shot a little bit more this summer, and just become a better all-around player. I want to learn how to play a little faster with this new team, and just become the best player I can be.”
