Dortch averaged 16.7 points per game for the Tigers. This summer he looks to show college coaches he can play with the best of them. He is playing with Oklahoma Impact. Prep Hoops caught up with Dortch for a Q&A on Thursday.
What was the experience like for you personally in the Fort Gibson State Tournament run this year?
It was a phenomenal experience it’s something I dreamed of since I was little to play in the state tournament. Not only that but making it to the Big House! It shows how much work you got to put in to get there. But yeah the experience is something I will never forget.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
Just trying to develop my game, get stronger and faster. Get where I need to be to help my team to get where we all need to be during the high school season and just be a better leader.
What colleges have inquired about you?
I’ve had a college approach me after the Tulsa Central game. Avila University out of Kansas City, Missouri.
What are you looking for in a college?
Mainly to grow as a person. Get a great education.
What is the biggest thing you want to improve in your game?
Definitely get stronger and faster, but work on my ball handling big time.
