Both players are combo guards, but much different in their own ways. Williams is more of a facilitator with the ball in his hands creating for others. Austin-Johnson is an undersized shooter with deep range.
Williams felt at home at Northeastern State on his visit. The style of play, coaching staff and campus sold Williams.
“The atmosphere impressed me at NSU,” Williams said. “I liked their fast style of play and the coaching staff. They offer my degree program as well.”
Playing time also played a role in Williams decision to become a RiverHawk.
“I will also be able to play as a freshman immediately and have an impact on the team,” said Williams.
Austin-Johnson is excited to head to a program that wanted him. As he searched through the recruiting process Northeastern State was an easy choice for him.
“NSU was the only program that gave me a legit chance and was eager to take a shot on me,” Austin-Johnson said. “I liked the campus. It is a lot nicer than the average D2 campus.”
Williams and Austin-Johnson will look to come in and be impact players from the get go for the RiverHawks.
