Continue ReadingTrey Hopkins is regarded as one of the top 2018 players in Oklahoma, but after this weekend Hopkins will get national attention. With the bright lights shining Hopkins dominated on the Under Armour Circuit. In the past 24 hours Hopkins has picked up three division I offers.
The first offer Hopkins picked up came from Boise State following his big performance against Atlanta Xpress. Shortly after Tulsa followed suit. On Monday, Nebraska pulled the trigger giving Hopkins his first Power-5 Conference offer.
Hopkins stands at 6’4″ 190 on the Wing. He is a freak athlete combined with good size and is an excellent shooter. On the Under Armour Circuit this spring Hopkins has been effective scoring in all three phases of the game. He is averaging 12.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists for Oklahoma Run PWP 16U. Hopkins is a knock down shooter from three-point range.
Over the first two sessions Hopkins has shot 43% from three-point range and 58% from the floor. The athleticism Hopkins possess allows him to do things most simply can’t. He plays with a good balance of knowing when to attack the rim and when to shoot the three-point shot.
Hopkins still has some things to prove, but if he plays to the level he did on Sunday he won’t have any doubters for much longer. One thing is for certain, college coaches are taking notice of his talents. Don’t expect the offers for Hopkins to slow down anytime soon.
