Even with the high ranking and a nice freshman season playing with the Wildcats, the talented freshman will head into his 15U season without any college interest.
“No sir, no recruitment, not yet,” said Hudson. “I hope this year during my 15U year I start getting some recruitment in. I’m just trying to work on all aspects of the game though before I start thinking about all of that too much.”
Tomorrow, Hudson will attend a tryout for Hoop Dreams — in the past he played with Louisville Legends.
Whichever team he plays with this summer will get a slasher, who can shoot the ball too.
“I think my strength as a player is I can get to the basket pretty easy, and I can knock down the midrange and the 3-point shot,” said Hudson. “But I need to improve on being more vocal and playing more aggressive defense.”
After getting plenty of run to start his freshman season — while filling in for an injured starter — Hudson spent the rest of the season as a spark off the bench for the Wildcats.
“I think I played good. I had some good games, and my best game was the first game of the season when I scored 16 points,” said Hudson.
“Early in the season our starting point guard was out and I had to score the ball a little bit and play a little defense. And when he came back my role was to just come in and play aggressive defense, and take care of the ball whenever he got tired.”
