The 6-foot-3 Bracken County combo guard has heard from a couple Division I programs, and some from a couple in-state Division II schools.
“I’ve gotten mail and have talked on the phone with Air Force, and I’ve gotten mail from Navy. And I know Bellarmine has been in contact with my coach. And Pikesville and Kentucky Wesleyan have contacted me,” said Crawford.
“I’m just hoping to get some more people interested, and to get some offers and hopefully being able to decide before my senior year.”
Last spring and summer Crawford played up with TBC Elite’s 17U squad, but he’ll be playing with a different program this offseason.
“I’m looking at some clubs around here; like Hoops Dreams, ot Kentucky Premier. I’m not sure yet,” said Crawford. “I’m just talking with all the coaches right now, and I haven’t made a decision yet.”
The good-sized guard went on define his playing style to PHK, citing his size as something he uses to exploit smaller guards.
“I’m more of a bigger guard, it’s easier for me just to drive and get straight to the basket, but I can shoot from outside and score off-the-dribble and stuff like that,” said Crawford. “I’m trying to improve my mid-range, and trying to make my outside shot better too. I’m going to work a lot of my outside shot this offseason, I just need to make it more consistent.”
With his junior season recently ending, Crawford reflected on his stellar winter with the Polar Bears.
“Every night they expected me to get my average points, which ended up being 27 per game, and also to grab about 10 rebounds,” said Crawford. “ And I just needed to get my guys into positions to score on every possession.”
