Tonight, Trae Young will take the floor center stage at the Mabee Center under the bright lights to battle Putnam City West for the Class 6A Gold Ball. Although, Young is a junior it could be the last time we see Young play in a Norman North uniform.
Young has been off the charts this season posting staggering averages in nearly every scoring category. Young is averaging over 35 points per game with an outstanding shooting percentage from three-point range. Once Young gets past the half-court line lookout because he can pull up and drain a three-pointer at any moment.
Oklahoma has been fortunate to get to watch a player the caliber of Young. He is ranked #13 in the country by Rivals and has offers from just about any school you can think of across the United States. Young is an elite player that simply, does not come around Oklahoma very often.
Tonight, may be the last time we see Trae Young play high school basketball in Oklahoma. He has not made a decision yet, but has talked about going to a Prep school next year.
He is a special talent worth making the drive to watch. If you have not had the chance to watch Young throughout his high school career make it a point to watch him at 7:45pm tonight in Tulsa on the campus of Oral Roberts University. Young will look to cap off his historic season with a Class 6A Gold Ball. The game will be broadcasted live in Oklahoma City and Tulsa on the Cox channel.
