A Louisville Lightning product, Gover is small in stature, but is producing majorly on the court this season – he’s seeing some Division I interest because of it.
“Lipscomb, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Navy, and Bellarmine (D2) have been in contact with me, it’s mostly just text and letters. I’ve heard from Tennessee Tech too, they just said they were interested, and would be in contact with me later on,” said Gover.
“I visited Lipscomb, Marshall, and Western Kentucky. I’d probably say Lipscomb is recruiting me the hardest right now.”
Gover explained his playing style to PHK, stating that his midrange is his strength, and getting teammates involved is his priority.
“I think I’m just good at getting my teammates involved and my defense is something I’ve really picked up in the last year. And I‘ve been working on my shot, I think my midrange game is as good as about anybody. And just my ability to be a leader on the floor is really what I take pride in,” said Gover.
“I’m working on trying to play bigger than I am, because I am small. Like working on finishing through contact and rebounding better.”
This season for the Warriors, the junior is averaging 18 points and seven assists per game.
“This year I’m pretty much the leader of the team. Last year we had a senior point guard who controlled everything, and I pretty much stepped in this year and took over that role,” said Gover. “My role is to just get everyone involved as much as possible, and to be vocal.”
