The senior has come on strong this season for the Bulldogs, especially of late. And hopes that he can spur some late interest from any college coaches as his career begins to wind down.
“I haven’t really got any schools’ interest. My coach has sent some film to some schools, but I haven’t got any interest at all to tell you the truth,” said Tipton.
“I feel like I should have more interest, of course. I think it’s because I hurt myself in AAU, but this year I think I would have received more interest if we would had a better season. We have a record of 7-12, and I think if we would have won more I could have had some more interest.”
With little time left before the April signing period, Tipton is still hoping to play ball at the next level. He’s willing to play for any team that is interested in him.
“If any coach would want me to play for them, then I would tell him I’d play extremely hard for him, and so whatever he would want me to do – and I’d accept my role,” said Tipton, who explained his playing style to PHK.
“I’m a very good rebounder, and I hustle and work hard. I’m a good teammate I guess you could say, not selfish. I can hit the mid-range jumper, or take it to the rack and score. I just work real hard at everything. I don’t care too much about scoring, I just do whatever it takes to win,” he said.
“I need to work on my shot around the perimeter, I don’t do that too much. And I’ll need to work on my ball-handling a little bit – I’m just average ball-handler right now.”
With his senior season coming to an end, Tipton reflected, and assessed how he’s played.
“I’m mostly a rebounder and a scorer, but now I’m kind of having to control the game a little bit,” said Tipton. “I think I’m doing a good job of stepping up, and playing a bigger role with my team this season.”
